Carli Beardsley Studio, is a boutique interior decorating & scenic arts studio located in New York City. I specialize in textiles arts catering to the show biz trades with a focus on millinery, props, costumes and scenic design.
I've long had a passion and appreciation for old and unusual things. I'm constantly hunting & gathering unusual objects and textiles - a habit I came by honestly as a teenager when I found a gorgeous earthenware cobalt jug under a house foundation!
Getting covered with cobwebs to retrieve it was certainly worth it to discover that bit of treasure! I seek to bring one-of-a-kind items - both vintage finds and textile goods I make in my studio - to you here.
I have worked for 20+ years in New York City as a professional costumer and tailor for stage, television and film on over 100 productions. I learned my craft in regional theatre companies designing costumes, scenery and props. I started my interiors business over a decade ago, combining my stage craft skills with practical work experiences growing up in a family of builders and contractors. These combined passions are a constant source of inspiration in my work & I enjoy sharing the tricks of these trades with my clientele! My clients range from DIY design enthusiasts who need some professional guidance to busy families who need full-scale design services.
